The McAllister family’s case enjoys the widespread support of many groups and individuals in the United States, as well as the support of many Congressional leaders.  However, the family remains in grave danger of deportation and we must keep the pressure on until that threat is lifted.

Please add your voice to those of many other American citizens and elected
representatives in urging the Bureau of Homeland Security and the office of
Immigration and Customs Enforcement to grant political asylum in this country to
Malachy and Bernadette McAllister and their family.

On March 15, 2002, in the City of Chicago, the Irish Deportees of America Committee was formed. The deportees represented in this committee are in full agreement with the Good Friday Agreement in regards to the north of Ireland and with this in mind, we ask for your support.

The deportees represented on this committee, including Malachy McAllister, have individual cases pending within the United States. They all have wives and children that will be affected by any action taken against them by the pending U.S. deportation orders. These men and their family's lives have been threatened if they are sent back to Ireland involuntarily. They have lived productive and peaceful lives for decades in the United States and would like the privilege to stay and live in America permanently.
