Malachy McAllister and his family need your help.  Many have recently received emails asking for your support, this email will tell you what you can do to help. The McAllister Family Justice Campaign and the offices of Congress Steve Rothman (D- NJ) and Peter King (R-NY) have worked tirelessly to make the June 8th briefing and press conference in Washington DC a reality.  The committee has contacted over 200 members of Congress via emails, faxes and phone calls, but we need Irish American citizens to lend their voices and contact your elected officials directly.  Calls from constituents have the most powerful effect on elected officials.

Your message to elected officials:

 

1. As a concerned Irish American we are asking your Congress Member to contact Congress Steve Rothman’s (D-NJ) or Congressman Peter King’s (R-NY) office and add their name to the joint letter to Department of Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff requesting he suspend the deportation proceedings for Malachy McAllister and his family. 
    
2. McAllister and his children, Nicola and Sean, are Irish Catholics from Northern Ireland seeking asylum in the United States based upon their fear of returning home.
    
3. The McAllisters' request for political asylum has been denied, and they have appealed this decision to the U.S. Third Circuit Court of Appeals. Should their appeal fail, they are in danger of being deported to Northern Ireland.
